Try out Vista free, for 120 days

That should be long enough to help you decide if it’s for you. Note that this is officially supported, and not some hack to get around licensing terms.

Grab a copy of Vista, any copy, install it without the product key, and you’ll have 30 days to try it out. From there, you can open a command prompt and issue the following command to extend it for another thirty. You can do this three times.

slmgr -rearm
